(AP) - MANCHESTER - Daniel Scott McAllister, a city councilman with a record of supporting labor and cracking down on crime, announced that he would be running for the State Assembly seat that represents Manchester. In his speech, he touched the faint spark of idealism left in the public, and at the end of it all, his words were greeted with thunderous applause, especially his promise to tear down the ivory towers that our 'leaders' had sealed themselves in. The incumbent Assemblyman could not be reached for comment, but Councilman McAllister was given full support by the local branch of the Democratic Party shortly after the speech.
