She sealed the last of the boxes with tape and leaned back on her heels. That was done. The movers would be there in an hour. Just enough time to put the last items in the car for the drive. Two more days and she'd be in her new home, starting 'adult' life. Nice to be out of school finally. Manchester wasn't too far from New York, either, so she could visit Dad and Marmi again soon.
And then... she could get that meeting out of the way and really settle down. She'd been a bit remiss in not having the meeting before moving, but, well, she really didn't want them to decide her on what she'd do for the rest of her life. She'd been afraid they'd just have applied labels and tried to put her in a box and she wanted that job. She didn't want their reaction to turn her away from it. So if they were pains... she'd just manage somehow.
She took the suitcases to the car and stood outside of the duplex waiting for the moving truck. A home.... time to make a home.
