A Piece of Paper

Dmitri has always written with an elegant hand, with what is quickly approaching three centuries' worth of practice, his Latin handwriting rivals that of those monks that labored so long to produce the illuminated texts that are considered masterpieces, and almost indecipherable without great time and care in reading. He, of course, takes complete advantage of this fact by illuminating each message, making it seem as if it were the reproduction of some ancient bible, including a second paper in English that indicates that this is in fact what it is. A skilled practitioner of Latin would know the truth.]

My Lord,

It has come to my attention that the Sheriff of the praxis of Manchester has fallen into a deep torpor of which the quite competent Prince of that domain, Fursa Hand-Stein, has been unable to rouse him from. This could mean a potential windfall to our House, as it places us in the position of being able to assist such a powerful individual, and more importantly, someone who would potentially have great knowledge of the intricacies of Fursa Hand-Stein's existance and potentially her weaknesses.

My suggestion is thus, to propose to Fursa Hand-Stein the assistance of our House and Clan in assisting her Sheriff in awakening. In doing so, we will have to take custody of his body for the time to study it and the infliction that keeps him within his torpor. In this state, not only do we have the chance to gain a boon from at least the Sheriff, but also to find any information he might be able to impart upon us whilst we study his form and his mind. That too, can be invaluable, as to most, Fursa Hand-Stein is an enigma.

This would, of course, require certain assets of our clan be set aside for this purpose, but I am sure many ambitious apprentices, seeking to earn their first regency, would be more than willing to volunteer for this project if you are willing to approve of its initiation. My part would be that of the intermediary and the diplomat, also in the proposing of the project to Fursa Hand-Stein, though she may be less than willing at first, as she is known to distrust our House. When I point out that this is most likely her only option, I have little doubt she will eventually turn to us.

Sincerely,

Dmitri A. Romanov
