Sex Offender Murdered, Found in River

The body of 24 year old Ronald Littrell was found yesterday morning in the Merrimack river by two fishermen. Littrell, an accused sex offender, had been charged with 5 counts of child molestation and 1 count of assault with a weapon. Out on bail, Littrell was believed to hae flrd the state in early May.

At about 7am, as John Cottle and Henry Werner were out in their boat, the two men came upon a body floating in the river. "It had caught up on a log," says 53 year old Werner. They pulled the body into the boat and brought it to shore, where they then contacted police.

Police believe the body may have been in the river for as long as two weeks, as determined by it's condition. Police are asking anyone who may have any information about the murder to please contact them. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
