(Bottom of Front Page)

Shots rang out on Canal Road, in front of the Stark Raving Mad Jazz Club in the wee hours of Thursday night. Police say that they received a call from the staff of the club reporting what they believed was automatic weapons fire. At the scene, Manchester Police found indications of a struggle, blood, shell casings, and bullets lodged in the facade of the building. Forensics teams attempted to piece together leads at the crime scene and indicated that someone may have been wounded during the incident.

"We are unsure of the fate of the wounded person. There were signs of a struggle and we must assume that kidnapping was a motive." said Peter James, spokesman for the Manchester PD. "We will continue our investigation. There were no eye witnesses to incident who have stepped forward, so that obviously makes our job harder."

Anyone with information about this crime should contact the Manchester Police.
