Hyacinth

Appearance

There is a time and a place for everything, and Hyacinth's wardrobe reflects that philosophy. Generally, she will dress to impress whomever her audience is for the evening, whether it be punk streetkids or sophisticated businessmen. Left to her own devices, she prefers lush fabrics that caress her skin and perhaps show a bit too much of it. She does not wear overtly sexual clothes, but has a Pre-Raphaelite's disregard for propriety. Tasteful elegance is her typical statement when in kindred gatherings, although she generally wears either top fashion or nineteenth century-inspired draping gowns.

Demeanor

Always the actress, her demeanor shifts subtlely for every situation. She can be the cold-as-ice elder when need be, although she despises that role. Generally she has the grace and bearing of refined sophistication, although she has not forgotten her commoner roots. She has great experience in kindred politics, especially in clan pursuits. In such situations, she has fostered a reputation of being a director, of taking charge when needed and being the consummate professional.

However, she hopes to avoid such unpleasantries in Manchester and to spend her time as a holiday from her typical fast-paced life. She believes in artful decadence; not hedonism and debauchery, but indulging in physical pleasures to gain artistic inpiration and philosophical enlightenment. As such she enjoys the sensual side of life, and will seek out all types of natural and spiritual beauty. (Please distinguish this attitude from a typical pleasure-seeker...she seeks mental stimulation through the physical, and is always discrete and demure in public settings. She does not advertise her indulgences, although she may subtlely query potential companions.)

Background

Hyacinth is an artist first and foremost, and has spent hundreds of years in the pursuit of the arts. Both a creator and an intructor, she has circled the globe as an actress and courtier. She has strong ties to the upper eschelon of the Toreador. Her notable non-artistic achievements include being a retired hunter hunter (she killed one of the most notorious kindred hunters of the 1960s) and her stint as Prince-Regent of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She refused the throne, but was Regent for long enough to understand the trials and tribulations associated with political power. Since then, she avoids inter-clan politics as much as possible, but she strives to support and foster relations within the toreador community.
